A new rental community of 221 homes, consisting of 124 private and 97 affordable units. Designed to respond sensitively to their setting while adopting a modern interpretation of traditional local materials and building forms. They are designed to be an exemplar in how modern factory-made homes can accelerate delivery, enhance sustainability, and increase quality while being distinctively local. 70% of the units are houses, with the remainder being low rise apartment blocks, a family focused development.
This phase is part of a Reserved Matters consent that plans to provide 2750 homes with a mix of housing types to meet local needs, as well as a business park, primary and secondary schools with provisions for special education needs, and early years. Additionally, the consent will provide community facilities, retail spaces, substantial open space including a nature park, sport and recreation facilities, as well as allotments.
Infrastructure improvements relevant to this phase of work include road network upgrades of new roundabouts, new signal layouts, new junctions, and the introduction of pedestrian and cycle crossing points.
The scheme will be delivered using Category 1 MMC - Full volumetric, pre-manufactured and site constructed by L&G Modular Homes.
Cast is providing project management, contract administration and cost management services for L&G Affordable Homes and L&G Suburban Built to Rent.
Additionally, Cast is engaged across multiple L&G developments, supporting the client with site acquisition and setting appropriate construction budgets for appraisal purposes.
