In The Times’ recent article ‘Will Boris Johnson undermine big builders’ foundations?’ discussion arose as to what Boris Johnson’s next move would be with regards to the inclusion of some of the biggest developers and corporations in the construction industry in the Help to Buy equity loan scheme. Before Johnson had become president, he had shared his disapproval of one of Britain’s biggest housebuilders Permission — a comment that had been spurred on by an article revealing that the government were considering removing Persimmon from its revised Help to Buy equity loan scheme in 2021 if it did not improve its building standards.
