Cast CEO, Mark Farmer this week attended a major stakeholder event in Dublin to speak at the launch a new Irish Government cross departmental initiative to drive MMC adoption in the homebuilding sector. Opened by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney , the event entitled Collaborate to Innovate set out how important MMC adoption is to achieving the ambition for additional homebuilding enshrined in the 2021 Housing For All policy. In a combined approach across the Department for Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Department for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the need to use digital technology, increased pre-manufacturing and site process improvement to improve productivity, sustainability, quality and safety is at the heart of a developing roadmap to be agreed with industry.
Mark shared lessons learned from both the UK and gleaned from his international collaborations in terms of policy making and various approaches to driving industry change over the last few years.
Cast has been actively engaged in the Irish real estate and construction market for several years and it was good to see several Cast clients and industry contacts in the audience
