For the last 2 years, Cast has participated in a construction productivity taskforce led by Be The Business, an organisation focused on improving productivity across all economic sectors. Picking up on many of the observations of the 2016 Farmer Review, it has been looking at the key role that clients play in initiating change and driving innovation from the supply chain, including by how it designs its assets. Cast has guided thinking on MMC, DfMA and Pre-Manufactured Value (PMV) including how it can be used as a dataset to measure progress and influence client briefing and design decisions.
The resultant’ playbook; is entitled ‘Trust and Productivity’ two intertwined themes which the industry needs to address if it is to reform how it delivers and futureproof itself. You can read the report here
